This. I will never understand this mentality from EA.
Imagine having less then a month to use those cards. Horrible management. But hey Jake Stein does a great job 🤦🏻♂️
First off, there isn't going to be another promo besides Rookie Premier, so the odds of any "starts" getting upgrades at this point is pretty much zero. The only justification that I can think of is the real stars (Mack, Kuechly, Von, Kelce, Zeke, Brees, Derwin) already have 97's and can be chem'd up to 99.
EA is waiting for a great time to upgrade them, Mack has been stuck at Blue 99 than Gold 99, If EA messes up on the last UL release, they could give ULs to current players, like Von or Mack would be the Defense UL for the last release.
Mut is stuck in 2015. Why the mode has sucked 4 out of the last 5 years. They need to scrap it and start fresh

Brady Rodgers Wilson Mahomes Brees Luck?
I felt challenged lol. Not looking to start any arguments. 100% agree the guy deserves a 99.
Quote from Mayhem619 >> My only guess, is that the Star Players are coming with Blockbusters .... I’m hoping at least haha. But such a waste to give us who we want, that late in the Season.
But im definitely not happy seeing these 99 Rookies (Mayfield, Darnold, Murray) yet they couldn’t give Rivers a power card, or at least a card with better rating than 95. I’m a chargers fan, and have a theme team, almost every other charger star player has 97+ only Rivers is below.
Yea you guys are in the same boat at QB. I guess we can take solace in the fact on the top 100 NFL players list just released the Chargers had the most with Dallas at #2.

over Dak...
Blows my mind neither him, Zeke and Cooper dont have 99's.
Zeke dont really need one since u can get him to a 99 easily. Cooper is a 99 on my team but he's limited in non theme teams

And they started the year so well with the content. But afterwards, for some reason they just kept screwing up. I f I compare these programs to the ones we had last year during the same period... Movers, Golden Tickets, Blockbusters. It just made you keep playing until the end and you could get great cards just for grinding. The last promo is the shittiest (with DRC being the only bright moment for me). You get nothing in terms of cards for doing solos, sets are ridicolously overpriced, half the players are not even good enough for theme teams (Hernandez in my case), not mentioning the god squads everyone has by now and the selection of players is just dumb. 99 Darnold? Cmon... Of course Von Miller can’t get a card in this promo. How could he? He could get Classic card at best and they won’t be giving him a 98 when he’s already got 97.
DRC hasn't been good since 2016. He was cut by the giants then played 1 game for the raiders and cut again. Two teams that have absolutely no secondary. EA then releases a 99 card.
I agree it ridiculous how many great players we are waiting on. I think we will see a Blockbuster type promo for July 4th and that will be where all the best guys get 99s. It sucks waiting, but I bet they are coming. And that's classic EA, holding out on the cards we all want so we won't quit too early.
Only thing I could disagree with you on is that theme teamers were not pumped for that new Hyde. He is amazing on my Packers team and now can get ST. Sure he lacks in HP and BKS, but the rest of his ratings are amazing when chemed up. He can also easily play CB if you want more force from your safeties because he hits 99 SPD, ACC, MCV, ZCV, PRC, AWR, etc. And at CB his BKS and ST is more than enough.
Yep.
And they probably wonder why they aren't getting much pack action.
I know it's difficult this time of year and people probably aren't spending anyways....but might help to release cards that might actually get people excited.
Agreed. There are plenty of NFL stars and older stars (such as Kam who is deserving of a classic) who still need cards, Jonnu freaking Smith (a TE from the Titans who maybe .2% of fans know exists) does not need a 97 card. Its fine if these "sleeper hits" guys get cards but then EA needs to make sure they are still giving cards to guys who ACTUALLy deserve them. The "sleeper hits" portion of this program does not need to exist IMO. Should have been substituted with some sort of "Super Star" portion with players Like Mack, Von, Kuechly getting 99s who actually need cards. Not damn Jonnu Smith.
Where are Von Miller, Khalil Mack, Luke Kuechly, Travis Kelce, Stephon Gilmore, Tyreek Hill, Desmond King, Christian McCaffrey, Terron Armstead, Marshal Yanda, Drew Brees, Cameron Jordan, Maurkice Pouncey, Danielle Hunter, Byron Jones, Xavien Howard, Derwin James and C.J. Mosley?
All of those guys are 2018 NFL All-Pros who have MUT '19 cards are 95-97 OVR or less. Yet we get these "Program Stars" and "Player Spotlight" cards where almost all the current NFL players in the promos are 2nd tier has-beens or rookies that didn't start or didn't play half their games last season?
Player Spotlights especially. There are 2 former all-pros that have been released in that program: Shady McCoy, a player in decline that hasn't made the all-pro team since 2013, and Andrew Whitworth, a 37 year old LT that was last an all-pro in 2017. Nearly all the rest non-rookie players are journey-men bums who have been able to scratch out an NFL career on the back of a good season or two.
