X Factor and Abilities Question

i am a little confused, on the lineup screen you can activate 3 X Factors each on offense and defense but for the other abilities to work on a card does it need to be activated as well? For example I just got 90 Gurley  out of my free NAT 89-90 pack so if his “Superstar X Factor” is not activated in my lineup tools do his other abilities not work like jukebox, pin-n-pull guru, and backfield mismatch? Or if a card has other abilities they always work just not the X Factor?

and also “does not stack with itself” ?? What’s does this mean exactly.... thanks for any help

Okay on my superstar I only see how to activate his xfactor. How do you activate his abilities? I’m confused still or are they auto activated?

I was trying to find out the answers to these questions myself.  I thought I read on a blog somewhere that the abilities will always be active whether the player is in the "Zone" or not.  Here is a quote from Madden School   Madden 20 Quarterbacks Superstar Abilities These abilities don’t need to be activated and cannot be lost. They are with a player no matter what happens in the game.

If this is true then I will add inside deadeye and outside deadeye to my QB and I should always have perfect throws since I'm unable to  make high or low throws.

 3 players on each side of the ball. Not based on number of abilities.

So theres my 3 slots but mahomes abilities + x factor work in game (i seen him light up for the deadeye ability) along with cohen and decastro so thats more than 3 abilities being used on offense. So i guess my question is, is it 3 players you can choose to add as many abilities that they can have or what?

 same way. go into lineup, select activate, and select the player

Yup, even cards without X-Factor slots filled, but with abilities filled, will activate and show the abilities on the right side of the team screen.

 basically it keeps someone from running an entire squad of “Secure Tackler” like in the past. It makes you choose who you want your key, impact players to be and adjust that way.

This is a dupe of an earlier thread where this was debated. Absent clarity from EA, I believe the consensus in the thread was the abilities only activate as part of an X-Factor slot (the 6). Otherwise they are a waste of TP's.

What finally lead me there was the OL cards. They have NO X-Factor option, only abilities - but CAN be added into one of the 6 X-Factor slots. Plus several people said they had identifier on an OL card and it only worked in H2H for them if the OL card was put in one of the 6 slots.

all abilities and x-factors have to be activated in lineup to work (i just found this out by putting Juke box on Cohen without a superstar ability and not activating him). you can also only have 3 guys on offense and 3 on defense for abilities and x-factors

I was wondering this as well.

does not stack with itself means putting the same chem in two slots doesn’t “double the chances” of it being successful and what not.
