Is dropping cards and not allowing them to go into power ups?
I hear the bs excuse they gave, but I think there's something else going on.
Some have suggested they're trying to move away from power ups all together.

No way they are moving away from power ups, in fact I bet they double down on them going forward. Power ups eat up training and training eats up coins. One of the most common ways for people to stock up on coins is buying packs.
I would be surprised if they moved away from power ups because it's a coin sink. It takes like 150k on some cards to get a plus one after buying training.
It would be hard to go back I think. Could you imagine spending 4k training on chems/abilities, and then NOT have it transfer to an upgrade. Everytime a new version comes out you'd have to spend another 4k training. Fuck that.

Doubt it. I think EA is always looking for additional enticements for additional revenue.
Alternative currencies....specialty cards etc....

Yes, but kraelo said they take like 40 hours to make from what I hear.
Simple answer, EA is lazy as fk! That and everything they do lately they completely screw up so they real busy trying to fix all the crap they broke.
