Personally, I'm the latter.
It's a fun strategy game if you know the game of football.
Sadly, the current late teen, early 20s generation had parents that didn't allow them to play real football and understand the logistics of the game.

It's become all about winning. At any cost. For ego. For the rewards we can't otherwise afford.
Quote from D2KDuFFy >> Because we’re not rewarded for creativity, we’re rewarded for wins.
This!
I change it up, run a scheme that I came up with and run a team that I built and didn't copy. I am sooo tired of facing the same offensive scheme every game. Every team I play has Vick, Jackson, Young or Newton and do the same thing; hike the ball, run to the left and evade defenders until their 1 read gets open. Every...damn...game! It's not hard to stop it just gets really boring playing against that over and over and over. This community has been plagued with these copy-cats for years. By the end of the season, you'll only be playing against 1-2 schemes on both sides of the ball.

Instead, it's a generation of "cheat code seekers".

I have my own plays and have never watched a youtube video about plays but I do struggle on some of these same defenses that everyone runs with 1 second blitzes. I just don't have the time to care that much about it.

Isn’t this like when announcer Charles Davis says “I know some guys like running up the score” and then rewards you after the game with extra battle points for scoring 50?
That's why I don't have vick, deion, tyreek, kittle, etc. My theme team may not be the best, and I may not make top 100 wl, but my team is unique.
Quote from kenkut >> Facts. Everybody got their scheme from youtube, period. No creativity. Cheese glitch blitzes. Try hard pass interferences. I don’t see how people can feel satisfied with playing like that
It’s because building your team is more fun than gameplay, so gameplay is a means to an end. Winning = cards / coins = team upgrades.
I didn’t get my schemes from YouTube, I just play and lose 80% of my online matches lol. It is what it is, I just hate it if someone thinks they’re so much better because they know how to exploit the AI on stretch plays and 20 yard drop backs. The defensive AI needs a complete overhaul. I want to be able to run, but not be rewarded for running the same run the same way every play. And the defensive secondary just losing their minds because a QB is 15 yards behind the line, but out of the pocket... really?
Every now and then I get to play an actual football game with someone online, and it’s fun, win or lose.
That said... “You play to win the game. Hello?”

No one said you had to call the same four plays. You can't call your opponents plays for him.
People are gonna do whatever gives them the largest opportunity to win. In this game that is running simple schemes and maximizing your opportunities to score.

I hate to admit it but this is pretty accurate
That’s the sad part is that that’s true, I don’t see how people have fun playing this game when you run the same two plays though like why even play you know what’s gonna happen
Why are we just braking this game? Why do we have to just copy cat every player and run the same 4 plays on both sides or the ball? Remember how fun madden was. This year i am basically playing the same guy every game, why not change it up and run some different plays? Have a good one
