There is absolutely language governing the situation where someone is buying points because EA is advertising the utility of those points and then not providing reasonable access for those who've puchased to use said points.
Of course, if EA/MS are granting refunds with no problem, then it's not an issue, but if you're buying points and cannot get your money back, then they are 100% in violation of many states CPAs and the TOS or whatever wouldn't stand, neither would any arbitration clauses.
Doubt you'll find any attorney that wants to bring this litigation, but it's not without merit.

They’re apparently going to fix some stuff tomorrow but it still sucks. I’m not always the most positive person here haha, but I was trying to enjoy this. Made some coins today, decide I wanted this bundle, loaded up some points and was ready to roll the dice. Not there’s just a negative feeling.
Yeah it does suck. I’ve been really positive with this promo but this put a damper on it for sure. I’m glad they’re making shit right tho. I’d never sue but I’d love to see it happen haha
