Mularkey is not an offensive genius like Kyle Shanahan or McDaniels. He likes to run the ball and play off the PA. He was alright in his time here in Atlanta.
Apparently he and the owner sat down and disagreed on how to get better moving forward. That's why he was fired.
He'll probably go to Cleveland as the OC.

Also I'm pretty sure Mariota called the plays after the 2nd half, couldve sworn I heard that somewhere.
The titans didn't beat the chiefs because of Mularkey, they were down 21-3 until Mariota started calling the plays. After Mariota called the plays, everything turned around, which shows Mularkey's ineptitude. Our potential is shown in the no huddle, when Marcus calls the plays. We are so effective in these situations Mularkey doesn't play to Mariota's strengths, which are intermediate throws with the field spread out. Rather, Mularkey's scheme runs condensed formations, giving him one or two options which are usually way down the field. Also, he has given Demarco Murray more carries than Derrick Henry when everyone knew Derrick Henry is soo much better. Finally, we were 9-7, but the only teams we have beaten were the jaguars(twice), seahawks, texans(when deshaun watson was injured), Ravens, Bengals, Browns, and colts(twice).
I wouldn't say I wanted him fired, but I'm not mad about it either. The offense regressed this year and looked horrible at times. That said I think he would still be the coach if he was willing to make some personnel changes. Robiskie clearly needed to go.
Jaguars are one win away from the SB, and we beat them twice this year. Texans and Colts will be solid assuming Watson and Luck return 100% healthy. The AFC South is going to be stacked for years to come, so might as well get the best coach out there(if possible?).
he degraded their franchise QB. Only reason they beat the chiefs were cus of a few fluke plays and Mariota himself calling plays in the second half. He was useless
