In my opinion, it's just one player for each team in the playoffs, and I think they put one more player for the teams that play the Superbowl.   The idea of more players is cool, but if that thread with the math of the promo is correct, there are many players for only one that most will be able to catch. (NYE for example, I believe it have more players, than these 22 players  according to your "theory", and I think EA did in a way where it was possible to get 4 ~ 6 players for who is F2P, disregarding the glitch that occurred. )

With some OD grind and 4-hour packs,  Milestones and Season Battles (Considering you only start grind tomorrow, since they will reset,) I believe until Friday it will already be possible to be reached the 10~12K mark.
