I honestly hate the timers in Seasons - it's a mobile game, IMO you should be able to walk away from it w/o penalty for the most when something comes up (phone call, etc). Of course the exception to that would be when both players are 'live' (like OD) but that's also one of the reasons I don't like OD. I also get what you are saying with someone not running the final play but that's actually strategy which, most times, is a good thing.
