I got it. Just make sure you don't flip the play in the menu before you start the play (I was doing that at first and wasn't getting the credit when doing that). So only flip the play during the audible (not when selecting the play).

Same happened to me. My series X overheated and shut off while playing, so I assume it was tied to that (session from before overheating wasn't closed out so ate the trial time). It doesn't show the option for the trial now when I start the game. I'm trying to install to my old XB1 now, so hopefully that works.
