Quote from CrimsonCoug88 >> Steve Young with conductor is the best QB in the game IMO. He doesn't miss throws. Facts.

Read "top-down": Check Safety alignment pre-snap - single high FS look is often a Cover 3 clue...dual high safeties is more likely Cover 2 or Cover 4 Check LB alignment and line shifts pre-snap - try to determine if you need to get to your hot route ASAP or if you can make a read or two before checking down At the snap, first check the safeties for rotation or drops - Cover 2 splits the deep field in 2, with each safety taking a half, you can see them split at the snap. If you read Cover 2 and have no MLB or underneath coverage dropping into a "Deep Blue" zone, then the deep post is open for the taking... Cover 3 is different in that the safeties are responsible for deep thirds instead of halves...this is less vulnerable in the deep middle (Post routes) but more susceptible to the drags and out routes underneath...then you need to know Sky versus Match principles and press coverage...its a lot to process in about 3 seconds!

1) Madden 19 will have EA sponsored tourneys in the calendar year 2019, but nothing before then. The "Madden Classic" is pretty much canceled at this point. I expect that things like the "Madden Challenge", "Madden Bowl" and "Madden Championship Series" will still happen, though they will be televised and have very limited live audiences beyond screened competitors and MAYBE family members only (also screened). There is far too much invested in this at a corporate level as both a way to expand the brand and to promote the game and extend the "tail" on the sales life of the title, for this to be completely cancelled. I would bet the prize money from the Classic will be utilized partially to fund victims' families and partially to cover the venue and others who stand to lose by the cancellations. 2) Any argument that MORE guns as the answer is not very logical. Insane people, by definition, do NOT think like rational people and thus have no calculus for "

I disagree a bit with some of the advice in this thread...team strength and ratings matter when you are matched up against equally skilled or experienced players only - otherwise, a better player is still likely to wax you until your knowledge catches up to them. If you have no idea why an out route is open against nearly every zone you try - until you luck into a Hard Flat by chance and see what happens underneath the route - then you are at an enormous disadvantage from the jump...and the highest rated players at every position cannot help you as much as people believe. If you are evenly matched in skills and knowledge, THEN having better players or getting better match-ups makes a HUGE difference in the outcomes, but not when you have no idea what is happening or why... Knowledge of the game is key; pattern recognition and reflexes are the difference between "skilled" and "unskilled" users, and finally mental toughness to avoid and/or overcome mistakes

My HOF edition is already downloaded and on my PS4...started and finished last night...unfortunately, unless someone knows how to hack PSN and unlock content, I will just have to wait until 11PM CDT on Monday night to unlock and play it...

The game does not have a "pause glitch". It is possible for the connection to time out between players, but that is not the same as a glitch, that is a disconnection. You have to hit the "resume" button and then wait for 30 seconds...do not touch any other buttons or the countdown clock resets and does not start again until you hit "resume" (or "x" on Ps4 - I think ... it might be "circle") a second time. Most people do not realize how long 30 seconds is, especially if they are impatient or in a hurry, and they restart the timer without realizing they did it... No one can actually "pause glitch", they can pause and then sit there, but they can't stop you from resuming in 30 seconds, period.

So, if I call a "Dive" play from I-FORM PRO, then from I-FORM TWINS with motion to make it I-FORM PRO again; then call another "Dive" play from SB DEUCE CLOSE, how are you going to program THAT? Or "Pitch" or "Toss" or "Stretch".... you get the idea... It is not as easy as saying that the AI should stop the "same plays" because as soon as you do that, people will simply find ways to exploit it too. Everyone needs to face it, Madden is NOT football and football knowledge and sense only go so far in playing it. Madden is exploitation of the 10 non-user controlled players, and programming and animations to get a desired result - usually a completed pass to a "playmakered" receiver who magically goes where no defense has gone before on every play. Every year its the same thing, and it always will be. The only solution is to split the online gamers into 2 camps - "simulation/real football" and "arcade/tourney". One stays with 4 or 5 minute quarters and the usual nonsense of animation driven results. The other lengthens the games to 7-8 minute quarters, smartly uses accelerated clock to keep the total time per game under 45 minute real time and installs a series of changes that effect game play through play calling, situational awareness, player ratings and traits, statistical likelihood and field position. 80% of the "community" will say they want "sim" / "real football" but within 3 weeks of release, 80% of the online games will be in the "arcade/tourney" space because while Madden players SAY they want more realism, what the majority REALLY wants is 300 yard passing, 2 x 100 yard WR, 100 yards rushing and 5-7 TDs in 20 minutes of gameplay, period.

So....another Lead Developer goes down and the exact same comments come flooding out into the forums and websites around the community... First David Ortiz was the idiot ruining Madden...if ONLY they would get rid of him and put someone in charge that REALLY cares... Then Ian Cummings was the idiot ruining Madden...if ONLY they would get rid of him and put someone in charge that REALLY cares... Now its Rex Dickson as the idiot ruining Madden...if ONLY they would get rid of him and put someone in charge that REALLY cares... Clint, if you really are taking on the top spot, I'd call those 3 gentlemen and ask them about the level of support and respect they got on a year-over-year basis and then make sure my contract paid me commiserate with the amount of bullshit that will accelerate every year... Two things have remained largely the same from 2005 - 2019 - 1) EA Sports Tiburon is the company releasing the game, signing the checks and making sure that what THEY want is in the game that ships (and THAT is a vaguely similar game every year without major, game-changing innovations that allows them to fleece consumers for 'premium content' year over year); and 2) No one in this infantile, irrational, "community" is ever satisfied, period.

There is no pause glitch.... as soon as someone pauses the game, if you hit the restart button or resume game, a 30-second countdown starts and after it runs out the game restarts automatically....there is no way to extend it other than to be a dumbass and sit there waiting for the person who paused the game to restart. If you doubt me, try it out and see for yourself...the trick is not to keep hitting buttons before the 30 seconds runs out...you do not see the timer, your opponent does, but if you don't let the clock run the full 30 seconds, you restart the timer and have to go another full 30 seconds...I cannot believe that this long into the game people still believe that because the game is paused you HAVE TO sit there....you are CHOOSING to do so, so chose to NOT DO SO and its over in 2 minutes and 30 seconds per half MAX...

LT's 98 ovr chem'd up to 99 ovr works for me... I run OOP FB Bo at HB#2 (97 ovr) and at FB#1 (96 ovr...which always amuses me that he is lower ovr at the position the card is on its face than at HB#2) Short yardage Bo, pass catching and general runs LT and I have no complaints. If I can figure out a way to get a Barry cheap, then maybe...otherwise, why mess with something that is already working?
