He should not be doing that job, EA is basically a little corrupt. He is a good and honest guy, but they really need the proverbial car salesman in that position. Nobody is going to boycott anything, you'll be waiting for your possible lame card drop everyday just like always. EA will go down a some point, but it will lawyers and not customer that bring them down.
