Don't fool yourself. The rookie premier promo has always been bad. EA went out of their way to NOT upgrade the RP cards even when the actual player was on fire. Saquon Barkley's rookie card is the only exception I can remember.

No, you are right. They gave us great card art after years of the art never loading but they took the card popup out of gameplay. This game is a mess. Just like half the new features that they introduced for the box art and removed because they can't implement a simple feature. (Changing strategy at halftime, program specific ability cards, or the stats that don't work).
