Not sure if you’re aware of this but MVP is a regular season award. Figured this was common knowledge. The reason Brock Purdy is considered a system QB is because the 3 games in which he did not have his full offensive arsenal healthy (Deebo Samuel’s absence), he went 0-3 and had a 3/5 TD/INT ratio. Brock Purdy has had an elite head coach, first team All-Pro tight end and running back, and elite receivers in Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel his entire career as a starter. So, until Purdy proves he can be successful without elite weapons (he has shown the opposite), he’s not going to be considered a truly elite quarterback. Lamar Jackson wasn’t the MVP this year, but we was more valuable to his team than Brock Purdy. The most valuable players to their teams this year were hardly quarterbacks. Josh Allen, Tyreek Hill, Christian McCaffrey, CJ Stroud, CeeDee Lamb. Those 5 were the most valuable to their successful regular season teams in the league in 2023.
