It's not, those 2 first rounders were to compensate the Lions for Goff's ridiculously huge contract. Stafford's remaining contract of 2 years with +/- $40 million remaining is what Goff will cost next year alone regardless if he's on the roster or not and I think it's higher the year after. Rams significantly helped their salary cap which was already bad to begin with.

A bit of overreaction surrounding this trade. The Rams haven't used a first round pick since they drafted Goff when they were still struggling leaving St. Louis and look how the team transformed from Jeff Fisher to Sean McVay. So not having first round picks isn't that big of a deal especially if they're likely going to be late-first round picks. I don't think people are aware that Goff comes with a HUGE contract - something the Rams, now admittedly, goofed up on and now have passed it on to Detroit. To save that money, giving up those 2 first round picks for a more consistent QB isn't that big of a deal. Even if Stafford only lasts 3-4 more years, that's the average QB being drafted out of college, either they don't succeed by year 4 or they become superstars. Rams clearly didn't see that with Goff so this trade isn't as bad as people think because of a two first round picks given. Also, those that think Rams should have gone after DeShaun Watson, clearly the Texans asking price would have been even more than what the Rams offered Detroit.

This same event for Icons is so dumb. The AI either runs screens and if not attacks you with other high percentage passes. You would think after YEARS of this, EA would you know think about what events they put in the game.

Generous 5. This year feels so arcade-like. The animations and gameplay are already disappointing and the AI very questionable. Doesn't seem like anything changed from last year - I just got dusted in Overdrive by a someone who seems like he just downloaded MM21 - defense was shutting down my 74OVR offense. Laughable TBH.

Whenever the game stalls like that, I have this self-conspiracy theory that it was a calculated play/outcome which usually results in a dropped ball or incomplete pass. What other reason is there when your WR has pretty much maxed stats and suddenly doesn't know his route or how to catch a 2-3 yard drag route or wide open pass? HEHEHEHEHEHE

Unfortunate to see the Rams blow everything up so soon - two years removed from the Super Bowl. As I have stated previously, I appreciate the all-in approach to win, but I did not agree with handing out those massive contracts to Gurley and Cooks before they were due. If the Rams were a little more smart with their salary cap, they would still be contending for a perennial playoff spot but now it looks like they're behind the 49ers and Seahawks and some can make the argument that they could be behind the Cardinals.

That would be a horrible trade - never mind position, just skill set alone, Julio Jones would be able to produce more than Zach Ertz could and would be more of a "safety blanket" to Matt Ryan at the WR position. Besides, I don't think Calvin Ridley is ready as a number one WR.

As a fan, I appreciate the all-in, win now approach the Rams went with. But the Rams put themselves in this cap-room hell by doing too much too early. For the most part, the Rams were home-built - drafting Gurley, Donald, Kupp and Goff. Add the additions they were able to get for relatively cheap - Whitworth, Woods and they had a solid foundation that should have kept them in the hunt going into this season. Paying Gurley too two seasons too early and giving up a lot to acquire Bradin Cooks. If Ramsay doesn't work out, Rans are going too reeling for a while during a time where they were supposed to come in with a contending team moving into SoFi stadium this season.

I think the Falcons are likely willing to pay the most while still getting Gurley at a discount as the Rams are still paying Gurley for 2020.

Strong possibility that Gurley is gone too. Man all that money for those extensions were really bust moves. I appreciate the all-in approach, and it almost worked, but I don't see the Rams being contenders. At least not for a couple of years as they get their salary cap in order. As fast as the Rams got Goff weapons, they took it all away just as quick.
