100% agree. I am a strict adherent to the Run and Shoot. There is no mini scheme in the RNS. The RNS IS a scheme unto itself once you figure out the fundamentals. I record the Hawaii games just because they are bringing my favorite O back from the grave. It doesn't work in today's NFL, but I don't care if my DIGITAL QB racks up a few concussions. RNS is the anti-meta book. I just wish EA hadn't done away with the ability to see the previous O and D plays while on the play calling screens. Last year I was on the lookout for guys who always ran Pats Sail, PA Crossers, and/or HB Wheel all game. This year I have to read what is going on all over the field to find the patterns instead of just focusing on where the ball is going. This is actually less realistic as I'm pretty sure the coaches on the D sideline recognize the plays being executed and communicate regularly with the players on the field. Not having this feature in 20 makes online play feel more like a pickup game in the park.

I think it should work similar to the way we can change the team affiliation on a PU card based on teams a player played for. As an example, last year we had Randy Moss early on. Moss wore 18 early on in MIN and then switched to 84. I think he wore 81 when he was with the NE Scumbags. By week 3 I had 3 starting WR all wearing 84. It sure would have been nice to assign Moss at #18.

I use Amos at FS and Derwin James at SS. SS is more heavily stacked than FS this year, so until a true FS I want to use materializes I'm using the best talent I can acquire.

I'm an old school Run and Shoot guy. I've been running the system since the NCAA Football on PS2 days. Year in and year out it is so far removed from the meta, and I don't think some of the kids can handle schemes that don't revolve around Pats Sail and PA Crossers type cheese. Additionally, the playbook is full of complimentary plays...for example I can run the Choice, Slide, and Go plays from 2 different shotgun sets, 2 different singleback sets and a Pistol set. Since 11/12 sets are 4 WR, 0 TE, and 1 HB I don't tip off the opponent to what I am doing when he/she looks at the personnel at the play calling screen. It's a difficult system to master, but once you get it down you have it for life. On Defense, I like the Eagles playbook. It's a 4-3 base with a 4-4 set to help shut down the run.

Quote from Robc955 >> Doing 1 solo a day just to get Brandon Graham This plan may speed up your grind...my team is 81 OVR and I have 3 grinds completed. Play all of the games with 3 minute quarters on hard and get the max stars. These challenge goals are very easy. When you get to the 4 star games, set the difficulty to 1 star. Walk away from the monitor and watch TV if you have one in the same room as your monitor. On D, allow the CPU to call and execute the plays. The AI will usually keep the CPU O out of the end zone and frequently nab a few picks. On O, set the clock mgt. to Chew Clock and call runs up the middle (01 Trap works nicely for me). Press X and allow the CPU to control the RB (Barkley in my case) after the snap.

Slay, Hunter, and Amos are done. Kittle is powered up and will be the next card I grind out...Goal Line is the only set in my Playbook that requires a TE, but Ive become so intimate with that set that I'll use it anywhere on the field as a change-up to my eleven 4 WR sets. I'm only using the tokens on players I am committed to grinding for. I'll save some tokens for later in the year and see which cards fall to me over time.

Depends on what type of D you run. I won't be doing Mosley because he only fits in a 3-4 scheme. This Jets fan is trying to only do defensive players for teams that currently or historically have run a 4-3...and role players to build around like Amos. My Jets haven't run a 4-3 since the Kotite era, so most Jets players are a hard pass for me. Conversely, I can't picture Atkins or Short performing well in a 3-4. I'm looking to Short as a potential 5th theme builder option, but the Vikings theme team is already providing 3 very solid 4-3 DT and if Alan Page (please, please, please) is back this year I would be wasting all that valuable grind time.

So glad the Alternate Playbooks are in the game at launch again this year. In 2018 we had to wait till after Thanksgiving to get them. To me, the Run and Shoot playbook is the most valuable item in my binder...it guides every offensive personnel decision I make throughout the year.

You already have a million coins and if you have that many low-mid elites just sitting around you must already have a starting team that most would salivate to play with. You can afford to hold on to the cards and cash in big time as the promos unfold. We are in Week 2 of the game. Next week we will probably get MUT heroes. The price of core elites for the hero cards is going to spike. Chances are pretty good that if you have core elites that weren't used in the first promo, some of those will be necessary building blocks for players featured in the next promo. The TRX Points are fixed and you can cash them in next weekend if they aren't in demand. Patience is a virtue, but then again I'm lucky to have a 50K coin stack and gold LG in the starting lineup for my NMS 25/50 theme team.

If you want to take the extra challenge it is there. I am positive that somewhere down the road I may regret not grabbing every star I could have...but if I miss some they are still there, set to the same difficulty long after my team has improved. For some the challenges, earning stars will result in a reduction of time spent. I needed to get a solid qb for solo grinding, so I grabbed every star I could get for the Baker Mayfield grind. The player that Deacon would be replacing with on my theme team is just as good as Deacon now that I have 25/50, so I am comfortable leaving those stars on the table with the solos still available should I see the need for 600 coins and a few stars later on. For the Theme King grind, the real challenge is not gauging my eyes out through playing 16 complete games. For this grind I am grabbing all the stars I can during the games with 3 minute quarters...these are VERY SIMPLE. As soon as I get to 4 minute quarters I am on auto pilot. Seriously, I step away from the monitor, sit on the couch, watch TV, and hit X every now and then. 1 STAR Setting. Chew clock. Run up the middle and allow the AI to control Barkley as I run non-stop 01 Traps. On D, I allow the AI to call and execute the plays. Slay (DET) and Hunter (Min) are done. Amos (GB) is next. I haven't scored below 2 stars on any game and frequently get 3.
