Pre snap, identify MOFO (Middle of field open) or MOFC (Middle of field closed) by reading the safety alignments. Then you can motion someone across the formation to identify whether its man/zone. Post snap, I'd look at corners to see if they drop back or if they are following wideouts. It's always useful to have a man beating concept in a play along with a zone beater

Mills/ "Pin" Concept. Read the post-side safety and sees where he bites. The Post and Dig route put him in a bind and sometimes he bites down on the dig, so look to hit the post.
