I agree with you... but EA will sure try to entice people to drop money on it so doing what I mentioned above gives them that opportunity lol

I think that is false. I think this is EA's way of trying to take some TP out of players hands in case they drop a promo and make people buy packs or use coins to get some TP back. EA is a business and that makes the most sense... do a "cool" promo to distract and get people to use TP... then drop a new promo that needs TP.
