It doesn’t say LDE/RDE, it says LE/RE-split end, and he did play defense, just more of a CB/DB role in pretty sure. His defensive stats show a fair amount of ints which backs that up

Yeah, it’s something that may confuse a lot of people. LE/RE refer to split ends which were what WRs were referred to back then.

Looks like they just looked up what position he played on pro football reference and saw he played LE/RE and thought that meant defense end rather than a split end
