Man, don’t get me wrong, I’ve done the power ups (more times than I’d like to admit) and some of those guys are still in my starting lineup. I’m just saying that I would probably have been better off saving the coin and buying a better guy who would keep auctionability (is that a word?) down the line than locking the coins into 1 dude for the long haul. To each their own though. MUT ain’t a marathon, it’s an 8+ month sprint so I can see the thought process behind upgrading to get the cream of the crop at the time.

Unless it’s a guy you’re SURE will get a non-LTD card coming up (not sure how you could be sure tho, EA has been all over the place this year with who is upgradable and who isn’t) you’re locking away future sales for a guy who will likely become irrelevant in a month, 2 at most. Your friend sounds like a smart man. I have a friend who also has the time to run multiple accounts and farm coins. It’s quite a lucrative endeavor for him. We should be more like our friends lol
