You get the players no matter what, and you're able to select another item from the rewards pack.

I hope it's the former. I would say Mariota over Henry though for a playoff hero.

I have PU Hooper up to 104 (very cheap to train up there with the +8) and also have GoMP Gronk. Hooper is the fastest TE I have seen, besides Tourney Hunter Henry, and his run and pass blocking stats are insanely good. At times he beats his defenders, similar to RS Engram, and his CIT is pretty good.
