I have the CD disc and can still play in offline mode franchise, which is what I'm doing. MUT won't work because servers aren't available, no one is online (or even if they are, doesn't seem like I can get a match?), and the AH is trash. But I'm still playing several times a week in franchise. Still fun. Love the pre xfactor game play. Do miss having Sean Taylor as my user LB though haha.

Haven't been on Muthead for ages because, well, no reason to be here but checked in and saw this. Amen, brother. I loved M17. Countless hours into it. "Servers not being available" was too much, man. EA had to explicitly kill it by shutting down hardware -- it lived on even after all the solos were removed, and the sets, although at diminished capacity. RIP indeed. Sadly, I'm still playing -- offline franchise lol. I'd never played that. Now I understand all the complaints of folks about the neglect to franchise. Brother, there are so many things that are just silly and so easy to fix, let alone bit things like designing plays. Eventually EA will probably reach into my Xbox and delete offline franchises, too, in order to get me to buy M21 or whatever. But from what I've seen of that -- hideously bad gameplay / players going through players and the whole arcade "exfactor/ability" thing that I'm not a fan of -- it ain't gonna happen. Hope the community here is well. M17 is dead. Long live M17!

Dunno. I like sometimes playing against the CPU for a game, especially to try a new play. Just bad to take them away. And with EA's new deal extending through 2026, we know what we'll (keep) getting if we want sim football.

So we now have 4 people. Figure if we get 2 more -- like 6 -- we'd be able to go, with 2 games per opponent, like a 10 game "season". How would that sound? So we'd need to recruit 2 others. We've got PowerTeam9800, rjs1620, acartillo and me. So if you know other M17s, let's ping 'em maybe?

I know the game is dead, but I just found this on how the different zones (are supposed to) work. Never understood the difference, just observed how certain plays actually worked: https://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/news/2016/madden-17-additional-gameplay-improvements-zone-coverage. Found it very useful in thinking through the shell to start from to address this scheme (and I've got one I'll try, with adjustments across the whole scheme. See how it works, of course, lol...)
