I haven't touched MUT in a full week - told myself I was done - and I don't regret it one bit. Played my Franchise game for the week on All-Madden, enjoyed it (even with the CPU being ridiculous), and moved onto other things. It's tough to do (Google "Sunk Cost Fallacy" to get a better understanding of why), but it's worth it.

Is it just me or is WL particularly bad with screwy logic and physics? I'm strongly contemplating just stopping MUT and getting my free time back, as nothing that's happening in these games is making any sense. Every team I go against is playing like a group of 99's, regardless of their actual ratings, what plays they choose, and player input.   I can genuinely say that I'm not enjoying myself, and if that stays the case, then there's not much reason to keep playing.

Yeah, I'm always stunned by how quickly H2H and WL have devolved into HB Wheel & outside runs on every play on offense, then blitzing every play on defense. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but it's definitely not fun to play against. I'm not sure what those people are getting out of it, either. They're playing Madden not like an imitation of football, but rather an attempt to take advantage of a game engine's blind spots.   What really annoys me is that a lot of the things that work to counter blitzes in actual football often won't work in the game.

So should I even bother with the full games? I'm stuck on the second to last one. The chances are slim that a random elite will help me much.   EDIT: Got to the last one...might wait a bit to try that one, haha.

It's good to know I'm A.) not alone and B.) I'm not even that addicted compared to others. Just to be clear, it's not like I'm some after school special drug addict🤣 - my social life is fine, my girlfriend hasn't said anything about it, I haven't spent any money on it, etc. - but this is one game where I put tons of hours into playing something that often isn't fun. Most games don't require you to invest a bunch of boring time in order to get to a fun payoff.    I play Overwatch, for example, and it never causes me to stay up too late, I never wonder what I'm doing when I play it... it's a perfectly acceptable, regulated hobby. So I don't need to justify some fun downtime to myself. But after too long grinding on MUT, ya start looking at what other hobbies you could be doing. I like to write, for example. I'm in decent physical shape already, but I could exercise in that time...   Some of you know what I mean. Some hobbies are okay to be obsessed with cause you can turn it into something productive. But I'm not going to be a pro Madden player or streamer. Pleasure and happiness aren't the same things, ya know? As someone else said, everything in moderation.

Thanks for chiming in everyone. I'm thankful that I haven't allowed myself to spend any real money on it, but that means a large time investment, as was already mentioned... It's just bizarre to spend so much time being bored/frustrated (solos) in the name of something that serves no purpose outside of being fun.   I'm not sure if it balances out, really. It's something I've been mulling over, a lot.   Oh, and I understand (to a point) the hesitation to take the team online in order to improve it "just a little bit more". I did that for a while, last year. It's not a logical compulsion. But that's the point of this whole topic. This type of game mode preys on weird neuroses, hahaha.

I've had this happen on turnovers, but it's done worse damage in Solo Challenges than in WL (in my experience). Last night, I picked the ball off, and then promptly ran straight backwards for a safety. Should have cost me the challenge, but I think I still managed.   I thought I was the only one.

Is it wrong to feel better that at least I'm not the only one losing it over these rushing ones?

No,  this one is in the last section. In the first challenge, you have 1 play to score a TD from your 25.
