As an update to this - I took it a step further and actually cleaned out my PS4.  If you've never done this (chances are you haven't - I had mine for about five years before I did this), invest in one of these:  Torx T8 Security Screwdriver   This allows you to open up your PS4 and get into the fan and the power supply.  If you've ever air dusted around the edges, you're more than likely just blowing stuff around inside the system.  In order to get a full clean, you'll need to pop the stickers off the back, remove the screws, remove the power supply, and clean from there.   There's plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to do this.  Opening the system apparently does void your warranty, but if you've had the system for more than a year that's not really a big deal anymore.

I have a wired connection that gets anywhere between 800-950 mbps   I still lag in 17 from time to time to the point where the game is unplayable   Trust me when I say you will never, ever escape it
