Why go to extremes? It reminds my favorite classic Billy Joel song. Just hear my crazy hippy ass out for a bit....there is no joy in either quitting the game totally and giving your account away - because coming here to talk about it just proves you miss it and are depriving yourself, just as there is no joy in being a slave to it that you FEEL you must play hours a day when you don't want to. There have been times I've signed in to ask my old league commish to bench my for full weekends, when he got all serious about it, I just found a more casual league. I been this new one such for 3 years now. Mad chill commish and we still place top 800 each year. One time I took a month break while I got into another game. Once, I got bored of gaming and took about 3 months off and only logged in for an hour or two a week to say hi. The dude just left me on the bench, true to his word, as I gave him my word I'd be back. My point is, never let the game rule you. You control the game. Then it's ALWAYS fun. The best thing about madden is that you can always catch up. That one time I took that 3 month break, I came back during a Team of the Year promo and grinded then heck out of it (for free, always f2p, for God sake!) And ended up with a team only 6 or 7 OVR less then most whales! After 3 months of inactivity!

Dear OP, It seems Overdrive has successfully prepared your for a real, human marriage. Assuming you are not in one already. Regardless, surviving this game and getting out with your sanity intact proves that a significantly high level of physical, mental and emotional development exists. Ironically, now you are actually ready to truly enjoy the game! Its much more fun when you realize it's a cruel, money grabbing joke. Just go F2P and whatever! Best Regards.

Hey, thanks all. I didn't want to bash EA if they had not done such a sale. I must have just plain missed it somehow. Sad part was I was totally grinding Easter and Ironclad. Allwell, I'll have to they drop another one. @kobenewton - I agree! Last year they did push those MD cash sales big time, it was awesome for stocking up. @Allman - What you said about EA is pretty amusing. "surveys users didn't want Madden cash rewards". If that in fact was said, they must have pulled the surveys from kids of the 1%ers of America. Hey EA, give us another decent MD cash deal and I'll send a few back your way. Come on, I know you need it bad, the season is almost over...

The only times I've ever bought madden cash were during the double madden cash promotions (or 50% more cash, can't remember how much more). I would buy 150 bucks of madden cash and milk that cash for over a year, pumping it into stamina to keep playing or to finish grinding events near the end of a promo. It seems EA decided to not offer these deals this year. I am just wondering if I missed it or there really was no such deal. Either way, I didn't see it and EA got no money from me as a result. Did anyone else turn 100% F2P as a result of the no MD deals?

Some of you touch on an excellent point. In all fairness, every player card should be actionable - you earned it, you should be able to use it the way you want. I believe the main reason most cards are not auction eligible or delayed is to force people into buying packs (stunner right?) in order to get a card. Then, by the time they can be put on the market it actionable, it becomes near obsolete. Another micro transaction tactic that is quite effective.

It is definitely not perfect, but I actually prefer the game play and physics in this game compared to past seasons. My main problems are QB controls (non-passes on button taps), Insane 60 yard bullets while on the run are a bit extreme, wide receivers not jumping for passes. The biggest issue are that fumbles do not exist at all - which is totally isn't realistic and makes hit-power and carry irreverent stats. Football without fumbles is like baseball without wild pitches/pass balls - just wrong. From what I remember from past seasons, those game engines were not anything to miss. This game has much larger issues to tackle.

FL Drive, hold the ball for a bit then float a pass out to the fullback out to the flat. The Computer tends to converge on the QB. Most times you just need to beat one CB and walk on in.

EA will be throwing as many promos as possible at this game, I imagine. It's the only way they could possible get some people to open their wallets at this point. Being that it's end of the season and everyone is running around with max teams, there isn't much reason to spend money unless there is a card that comes out that someone feels "just needs to have".
