I'll get it because it's the only football game out and because I really don't play any other games. For M20, I made the decision to get it from a store on actual release day and I'm very happy I made that decision. I'd never get a preorder.

This is super dope! Where did you put your abilities on defense. I ask because I'm running Calvin with no abilities as well and I've been very impressed so far. I run abilities on NTL at CB, Clowney at OLB, and Lott as my user. Thought about activating Calvin over NTL.

You know it's going to come out with RPs where if you complete all 4 journeys, you have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to earn a rookie card that won't get upgraded until December.

Not invest in rookies is the huge thing for me. I'd rather just tough it out with an inferior card at the time and wait for the price to come down on something I want. I like planning out my year-end starters too. I don't like cycling a bunch of players in and out as that can waste coin. I also try to not spend anything until I get to 500k in coins once the game drops. I think I might push that number out to a mil or so. It definitely pays off later in the year if you can have self-control.

I approach the game different than a lot of people I guess. I'm NMS and I grinded all year but my premise in this game is to resist the urge to buy cards on day one, hell even week one, month one with my coins/trophies. I've amassed 7.3 mil in coins over the year and I have had a 97 ovr squad since early March and I think it's purely for the reason of having some self-control and waiting for prices to drop as the new shiny thing comes out or I grind out a PU pass. I've played a decent amount of H2H throughout the year and was usually 2 OVR points behind my opponent. Even with Madden's gameplay bullshit it forced me to just deal with the OVR difference and try to get better. I'm prolly still a scrub, just not a scrub's scrub. I don't like taking the meta play calling approach either. I picked up Madden again in the late 2018 season after 10 years of not playing so using every chance to get better helped me this season especially as I got more comfortable in H2H. I guess I'm saying this to say that no matter what the 'MUT economy' is, there are ALWAYS ways to make coin in this game. It might be have to be solos or shit we feel like we're above. I'll never complain for shit being too cheap. I'll trade hours of my actual time after work for not giving EA a cent because I like football. But I'm with you on hating every other matchup being dive/stretch and blitz 7-8. Fuck EA for that forreal.
