I used to own my own small business that I had to close in 2016. From my business, I grew ties to a mortgage company and started working for them as a loan officer that has grown very large since I joined so I was able to move up the ranks as a team lead quickly. There is always good money to be made in sales if you are in the right industry at the right time. I just got very lucky to be in an industry that has been insane over the last several years. With that said, I've average a 55 hour work week over the last 3 years to handle the capacity. The end of the super low rate environment is near so I can't say it is a great time to get into at this time, but if you think about it from a sales perspective compensation is generally revolving around a % of the product sold. You won't find a product you facilitate a sale on higher than a home and people will always want to own one regardless of market conditions.
